April 17th, 2009

For my first post with substance, I'm going to discuss the day I had, and branch off from there. This type of thing is completely foreign to me, but today would be a great day to start.

Started off with a great discovery, 88.5 FM. Found it on the way to school. No commercials or dumbass DJs. In fact, the DJs usually sound like they're stoned.
After school, Lupita and I had the pleasure of tuning into their two hour punk schedule. 4-6pm. This was honest and true punk, in all seriousness. It was amazing.

And after that we got some super pop from the 80's. This station is fucking wonderful. The best from every world. Hip-hop, punk, soul, funk, rockabilly, college rock, "soundtrack shenanigans," lounge/vintage, drum&bass, post-punk, no-wave, new wave, noise, avant-garde, post-rock, space-rock, shoegaze, ambient-electronic, minimal-electronic, drone, experiemental rock, vintage radio theater from the 30's, 40's, and 50's, blues, psyche, prog, folk, freak beat, death, black, thrash, heavy, power, hardcore, nu-metal, electro-industrial, aggrotech, futurepop, atmospheric electro, uaguanco, guajira, afrocuban salsa, and so much other great shit. Oh, what exactly is "obscure r&b?"

Adriana took some badass pictures today during lunch, this is my favorite:

Today Lupita and I not only went to one Goodwill, we went to two. We first went to Covington. Amazingly, this one pair of pumps I always have my eye on fit Lupita. It was a lovely day, and we zoned out on the swing in front of Kroger Supermarket for a while. Afterwards we drove ten or twenty minutes to the Conyers Goodwill. The drive was picturesque: us and the road and Pall Malls and real fucking punk music.

Conyers yielded a few more finds. We frolicked in the stuffed animals, well, after Lupita finally managed to get away from some creep who suggested she join an exotic modeling agency. Here are some pictures:

An equine with fucked up legs. We later found, and lifted, a red panda beanie baby.
To satisfy Lupita's obsession with all things panda.

Lupita found a shirt she wanted to swipe, so I grabbed a few dresses
to take into the fitting room with us. I had a cliche eighties moment.

The other one I grabbed fit Lupita perfectly. She wound up getting it.
The picture doesn't do it justice.

Came home to a pleasant surprise.
I don't even know how to start talking about it,
so I'll keep it as simple as possible.
I read it and screamed like a little school girl.
I think that's all I shall say about it, actually.
I feel as if I broadcasted every detail, it'd be sacriledge.
But yeah, I'm happy about it. Conflicted, but so thrilled.

And tonight, I'll be watching my random
movie channel, (the only one I get) Flix.
Already saw River's Edge, a fantastic movie from 1987
featuring Crispin Glover and Dennis Hopper.
On tonight: Gods and Monsters, Summer Lovers, and The Beach Girls.

So. First real blog post.
I bet nobody had the patience to read the whole thing.
Maybe Animal Collective made it easier?

Ahh!
I loved this- especially how you manage to include all sorts of photgraphy in here.
My blog currently sucks at the moment.
Going to work on it.
